About Us

Biosyntec Uganda is a sustainable agribusiness transforming Uganda’s avocado potential into premium cold-pressed oil for global food and cosmetics markets. As a subsidiary of Biosyntec GmbH (Germany), we merge European agritech expertise with local innovation to deliver high-quality, ethically sourced products that support both people and the planet.

Operating in the Rwenzori region, our business is rooted in strong partnerships with smallholder farmers. Through our robust outgrower program, we currently work with over 2,800 smallholder farmers growing improved Hass and Fuerte avocado varieties—both known for their high oil content and superior quality.

This initiative not only boosts farmer incomes but also builds long-term resilience and rural prosperity.

Our outgrower farmers often operate in hilly terrains prone to landslides and soil erosion. By planting avocado trees, we’re helping to anchor the soil, protect watersheds, and reduce erosion risks in vulnerable landscapes.

Moreover, avocado cultivation under our program contributes to carbon sequestration, helping to reduce the region’s carbon footprint. In this way, we actively support UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) by promoting climate-smart agriculture and ecosystem restoration.
